VI and V2s over Brabant
A number of V-Rs are hitting Brabant and Gelderland areas. including in Herpen. It makes baker Toon van den Berg go blind. Many houses are destroyed, giving the village a completely different appearance after reconstruction.
March 8, 1945: destruction caused by a crashed V-1.
Landed about 25 meters behind this house. When the V-1 fell, 5 people were present in the back of the kitchen, namely widow Bet v.d. Berg-v.d.Linden, Bertha the daughter, Antoon and Janus the sons and Karel Adriaans, who was visiting. All were wounded; one of them, Toon, went blind. There were also eight English soldiers in the attic, who were billeted; one of them died.
